My Composition..!

My new comp.. I've named it "Sound of South" cuz that's what it sounded to me like.. I've used synthesized sounds of Mridhangam, Gottuvadhyam, Morsing etc which was all tuned using software to get its tone (Not the actual instrument though!) and some strings, flute and damped keys.. This is just a 2:21min track.. Hear it and leave your comments.. [Software Used: FL 8]

hmm.. the chords you use in the BG are distracting. I'm a huge fan of these south fusions, but ithink you overdid this one by using too many (loud)instruments around the main percussion. You could've made this a little simpler IMO..

Good work..

Hi, great job on the soundtrack. I agree that the BG was too loud. Fantastic though.

Can I ask..how did you get the synthesized mridangam in FL Studio 8? PLEASE do let me know. Thanks!!

@Markus: I was hoping someone would ask.. I took it from Rahman's 'Margazhi Thingal (Sangamam)'.. Mridangam alone is played at the starting of that song just before the singing.. I cut that into 3 and made one as a loop (that you hear throughout the song), and other two as fill.. I wish i could download Indian instruments for FL for free.. ;)
