Tamil cinema is giving out some remarkable movies these times. Sivaji was one of the outstanding flick with the awesome threesome Rahman- Rajini- Shankar. The movie was apparently a big hit and was one of the most expensive movie of all time in the history of Indian cinema. It was Rajini who ruled each and every single scene in the movie with a mind-blowing background score by the legend, Rahman. On the day of release, Rajini fans filled the theaters and the film was running house-full for about a week. When this is about Rajini, Padmashree Kamal Hasan, a renowned eminent actor who gives out his director's thoughts as a character, has done many challenging roles. One of his remarkable roles include Avvai Shanmugi, in which he plays as a old nanny. Kamal is a three-time National Award winner and 18 times Filmfare Award winner for his extraordinary roles. The contradictory part is that, Kamal has done roles which literally was eye-poping. But when it comes to Rajini, he has not done roles as outstanding as kamal. But still Rajini has enormous number of fans when compared to Kamal Hasan. This is because the aesthetic level of the audience is strongly focused on style and heroism. Actors like Kamal gives out roles which could probably show people some roles which they would'nt even have imagined. Rajini walks easily through peoples heart and finds the right place. Whereas Kamal puts in enormous effort, yet the fame and name is less when compared to Rajini.
There are many actors who takes their profession as their soul. Actors like Vijay found a different approach as a guy-among-the-crowd in his flicks. Whereas Ajith really finds roles which suits him best. In Godfather, Ajith has done double action one as a young lad, and the other as old man. Ajith was also into car racing, but could'nt continue it as he met with an accident few years back. When its comes to Ajith-Vijay, Both has equal number of fans. Vijay was recently honoured with a Doctorate for his acting. The biggest part is, Vijay has not done any exceptional roles in any of his movies. Whereas, Ajith have tried some characters which really was challenging ones. This controversial topic has some reason over it where people must not only support their favorite actors but also must respect skills of actors who really get into acting big time, taking every role with great endurance. Talent, and the way in which they give out perfectly will eventuate in success. Kudos to eminent artists. Wise people are always buoyed by the sucess.

Very true.
But this imbalance exists for a reason. The reason being that each one appeals to a different audience.
Rajni has a huge fan following cos' of the roles he chooses. These are roles the masses can connect with. He caters to the crowds who get into the cinema halls after a long working day to get some entertainment, which he provides so well. They are not the kind of people who can judge a movie from a technical or acting aspect. They just want something that will lift their spirits. They want a hero they can idolize. This Rajni does really well . So he's the king of the masses and draws such crowds . Also for a unknown reason rajni simply
Kamal on the other hand is a different story, he's really made every effort to bring a class to his movies . And tries to make each movie different et all . But the audience who can appreciate that genre are very few and also no one in that crowd can be termed kamal fanatics . They just appreciate him for the movie he makes . Cometh a bad movie they will not hesitate to criticize him.
So, like i said . You can't really compare both these icons. They are so far apart and beyond comparison .
Instead we should just take them for what they are.
The same can be said about all other actors . Fame is never proportional to skill or talent. There are far too many other deciding factors.
Cheers
This is not about how one shows himself up to the audience, its about how far hez into the character hez given.. If one wants to show his heroic thing on screens, then why need of a script..?
i admit that Rajini showz up for that.. His bigger part involves showing himself up on screens than representing the character.. Is that for the audience hanker..? Then, on the contrary, Kamal completely gets into the character and also shows up very litte.. (of course, showing up of a ardent actor is always welcome, but to some limit).. but that is not appreciated or well accepted by the audience.. thats because, as i said, the aesthetic view of the crowd is focussed on heroism.. only a few could actually feel a character in a story..
This is mainly cuz if one of rajini's fan turn up saying 'Rajini is awesome' and when Rajini gets on screen, people see fans doing some crazy things.. like cracking crackers and stuffs.. the people gets to see all this and conclude hez one of the biggest.. or the biggest of all.. i guess, this is how that happens when someone could'nt think upon this by himself..
the cinematic ethos is getting down now-a-dayz...

well..i go with wat guru says...
but its the time ,tats goin to bring the difference....
with people getting brighter ,demanding quality films, now comes the difference...though with all glitz ,glamour n of course rajini factor sivaji became a hit..its not wat it should have been....it should have been a huge huge hit....
Iam not a rajini fan..but still wen he shows his heroism on screen with his own style,ya iam attracted.....but once i come out of the cinema hall, its all gone...tats it...
but with kamal..it is different...i dont mind watchin avaishanmughi or anbe sivam for my 20th time or so....
even in a entertainer like panchathanthiram ,u can c kamal exhibiting his professionalism....
apart from his previous era of fans i dun think rajini is goin to get any newer fan population... but kamal , he will always shine a star...he'll always be a legend.. a test material with which u can compare any other professional with...
